Rick the Evangelist

Rick Perry isn’t ashamed to admit that he’s a Christian.  What is less certain is how he feels about his Savior’s commands to care for the poor and vulnerable and rejection of ostentatious faith.  After all, it’s easy to talk the talk about defending the faith against a fictitious war on religion, but much harder to make one’s cowboy boots walk the walk of caring for the least of these.  Whether its slashing government programs for education or only giving 1/100^th of a tithe to church, Perry clearly prefers praying on street corners to the inconvenience of having his faith be reflected in his deeds.
