Ayn the Atheist

Not even death can keep a bad philosopher down.  More than 50 years after her tomes first hit the shelves, this prophet of profit and antagonist of altruism has been given second life by followers who champion self-interest over love of neighbor.  Known for comparing the poor to “parasites” and saying that altruism is “evil,” Rand was never a fan of the real Jesus (to put it mildly).  But even this ardent atheist, who despised religion and created her “own code of morality,” would likely have been proud of efforts by the Tea Party to remake Jesus in her image.
